Credit scoring software and decision engine

In short

Credit scoring software estimates a borrower's ability and willingness to repay and turns policy into automatic, explainable decisions. Finsora combines rule-based policy, scorecards and AI-assisted models using bureau, open banking and application data, including for thin-file borrowers, and records the reasons for every decision so risk teams can test, monitor and adjust them.

Credit scoring and decision engine

Frequently asked questions

What is a credit decision engine?

It is software that applies a lender's credit policy automatically: it gathers data, runs rules and scores, and returns approve, decline or refer with reasons.

Can it assess borrowers with little credit history?

Yes. Open banking transaction data and other alternative data can support assessment of thin-file applicants.

Is AI credit scoring regulated in the EU?

Yes. AI systems used to evaluate the creditworthiness of natural persons are classed as high-risk under the EU AI Act; after the 2026 AI Omnibus amendment the related obligations apply from 2 December 2027. Explainability, data governance and human oversight are key requirements.

Can our risk team change rules themselves?

Yes. Rules, thresholds and limits are managed in the interface and can be tested before activation.
